our Focus

Chapel Rock's primary purpose in missions is to evangelize the lost starting with the immediate community and extending to the ends of the earth. Through numerous missionaries and mission organizations, Chapel Rock ministers to people around the world. And, through many community outreach ministries Chapel Rock ministers to the whole person and to anyone willing to hear the gospel taught. Missions ministry serves the congregation by offering resources and experiences to enhance missions in the church.

  • To share Christ's heart for the world (Matthew 9:36-38)
  • To see men, women, and children saved and brought to knowledge of God (John 3:16, Romans 10:13-15)
  • To minister to the whole person within the scope of world evangelism
  • To educate and inspire the congregation in the field of world missions
  • To support, encourage, and evaluate all missionaries, and to communicate with them as to their physical and spiritual needs, both on a monthly and long-term basis

2017 Alaska Mission Trip Report

During the last week in July a team of 12 folks (7 from Chapel Rock and 5 from Clayton CC), traveled to Journey CC in Fairbanks, Alaska.

The team installed soffit panels and trim to the exterior of the building, lighting in the picnic shelter, acoustical panels in worship center, updates to the shower rooms, touch up painting, prep work for the pouring of a concrete patio, concrete form removal from light/power poles,  sound booth finishing, cleaning, etc. A portion of the team also installed a new front door on the Dickinson home and replaced a kitchen sink faucet.

The 2 church groups functioned well as an integrated team, and as usual, God provided people with the right skills for the work that needed to be done.

Future trips will focus on maintenance and repair tasks, community service, and enhancements to the acreage around the church building.

January- Women's Trip: Haiti

Lifeline Christian Missions is hosting a trip for women to Haiti.  In January of each year 50 women from across the United States gather to minister to over a thousand Haitian children by passing out Christmas gifts sent to them by their sponsors in the U.S.  Long days in the hot sun are the norm, but the joy this effort brings keeps women going back each January to work and to also work in the schools including the brand new high school which just opened this year.  This trip is full.  If you would like to be on future trips please contact Ruth Ann Shattuck by email, rshattuck@chapelrock.org.
