If it's your first time at Chapel Rock, you are our honored guest. We do church a little differently than other places, so here are a few frequently asked questions to help you plan your trip.

The staff and leadership here at Chapel Rock is comprised of men and women who love, care and pray for every single person in the church. If you have any questions for any of our staff, feel free to reach out and email them or call our church office to speak with them.

  • Casey scott

    lead pastor

    Beginning January 1, 2017 Casey became the new Lead Pastor at Chapel Rock. He is a native of Joplin, MO. He spent most of his youth and young adulthood there, and graduated from Ozark Christian College in 1999 with a Bachelor of Theology in Preaching. He has served churches in Missouri, Kansas, Montana (a church he planted), Illinois, and Indiana. Casey also holds an MDiv. degree from Lincoln Christian University. As Lead Minister at Chapel Rock Christian Church, he is responsible for preaching, visionary leadership, and missional engagement. His purpose in life is to help people love Jesus so much that they live like Him. Casey and his wife Debbe have 6 kids, Emma (15), Eli (13), Eden (10), Eryn (7), Evan (3), and Ezra (5 months). Casey is a total J.R.R. Tolkien geek (he reads The Lord of The Rings yearly!). He also plays guitar, loves doing home improvement projects, and is a regular at the gym.

    Our Membership Class is a first step on the path of discipleship at Chapel Rock. We believe that the church isn't about a building or a service that happens once a week; it's who we are. The Membership Class is an opportunity to discover what congregational life as a part of the body of Chapel Rock is all about, and how you can participate.

    senior assosiate pastor

    Fred is a native Hoosier and is an avid sports fan. He has been the Senior Pastor at Chapel Rock for 18 years and beginning in 2017 Fred moves into the Senior Associate Pastor role. Fred attended Ozark Christian College where he received his Bachelor of Sacred Literature degree. While teaching and coaching at St. Louis Christian College, he acquired his Master of Arts degree from Cincinnati Bible Seminary. He is married to Sheri and they have two grown children. Fred’s passion is communicating the truth of God’s Word and helping people to see how that can change their life. His favorite movie is Hoosiers and enjoys exercise and yard work.

    John is a farm boy from Kansas who met his wife, Carolyn, in Bloomington, Indiana, where they both earned degrees from the IU School of Music. Another degree (Master of Arts in General Ministries), this time from Cincinnati Bible Seminary, and three amazing kids later, he is still learning how deeply God loves His creation. More than anything John wants Chapel Rock to be a place that people who don't know Jesus want to attend. For laughs, he and his family enjoy making up phrases to match the looks or actions of their Basset Hound Heartly. Outside of work, John enjoys watching movies, landscaping and being The Waffle Guy.

    Born a Hoosier, Al spent most of his childhood as a P.K. (preacher’s kid). His family ministered in churches in southern Michigan and northern Indiana. He graduated from Great Lakes Christian College and served in youth ministry for several years. He met and married his lovely wife, Katrina and soon moved to Indianapolis where they raised their four children. Al worked in electronics at Wood-Mizer for 20 years before joining the Chapel Rock staff in 2005. Al loves to “build things” and take long walks with Katrina. His passion in ministry is encouraging and equipping people to carry out Christ’s mission here on earth.

    Nick Wilkes currently serves as the pastor to high school students and is the family ministry team leader. He and his wife Niccole have been married for 14 years and have two elementary age daughters Nora and Macy. Nick loves to build and fix things and is always up for an outdoor adventure like hiking, camping, kayaking, or exploring. He grew up in central Indiana, graduated from Kentucky Christian University, and came back to Indy to his native Hoosier roots.

    Chad grew up in Clayton, Indiana, and serves as the Middle School Pastor at Chapel Rock. He has served churches in Indiana, Ohio, and Tennessee. He graduated from Johnson University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Bible and Youth Ministry-Preaching. While at Johnson, Chad met his wife Nicole. Chad and Nicole have two children, Madison and Adam. Chad’s passion is to see students love Jesus and serve God with their lives. Chad loves spending time with his family, being with friends and watching soccer.

    Sherry grew up in West Lafayette, Indiana. She moved to Indianapolis after graduating from Purdue University in 1994. While working in the advertising field she met her husband, Brian, playing on the company coed softball team. They now have 3 kids; Katelin, Rachel and Justin. The Schwabs had been attending Chapel Rock for 10 years before Sherry felt the call to join the staff as the Early Childhood Director.

    Mark has served as Chapel Rock’s Administrator since August 2001. Originally from Columbus, Indiana he and his wife, Marsha, have two adult sons Matt (Kelly) and Kyle (Molly). Rounding out his family are the three most beautiful granddaughters one could ask for! A graduate of Columbus East H.S. and Indiana University, Mark was previously the Sports Director for Special Olympics Indiana for 14 years prior to coming to Chapel Rock. He is currently on the local chapter leadership team of The Church Network, a national organization devoted to church administrators.

    Rick and his wife, Jane, joined Chapel Rock in September of 1980 and he joined the staff on June 1, 1981. He is Chapel Rock’s Building Administrator. Born on October 27, 1953 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He grew up in Speedway, Indiana and is married to Jane and dad to Chris and Mark. His favorite Bible verse is 1 Corinthians 15:55 Alma Mater: IUPUI His interests include granddaughters and family, road biking, history (especially military history), staying in shape, Indy 500, Colts, NFL, IU basketball. Rick enjoys music like Amy Grant, Smooth Jazz, 60’s & 70’s rock, classical and movie themes. Rick's favorite broken bone is the rib that he broke when he dove through a hula hoop at his son’s wedding reception. He also loves the month of May, because of the Indy 500 and the entire summer is in front of him.

    Phyllis serves as the Adult Ministries assistant. She has two daughters and five grandchildren. An alumna of Northwest High School, Phyllis has served as a ministry assistant for over 30 years. She is most passionate about being a Christ follower!  She enjoys her time with her daughters and grandchildren. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, walking, traveling and reading.

    Donna is a long time member of Chapel Rock, joining with her husband, Wayne, more than 30 years ago. She joined the office staff in 2001. Donna grew up in southern Indiana and moved to Indianapolis in 1970. Wayne is a transplant through the U.S. Air Force and is originally from Louisiana. They enjoy family events and especially time with their grandchildren. Reading, sports, and entertaining provides enlightenment, fellowship and humor in their household. All things creative are of special interest. Donna’s background is in sales and marketing and her current duties as Family Ministry Assistant utilizes her experience and gifts. She has served on many committees over the past years and currently enjoys baptistry assistance and ushering. A passion for studying God’s word has led her through many Bible studies.

    Carol is a long time Chapel Rock member from Indianapolis, Indiana. She has been on Staff at Chapel Rock over 3 years. Carol is married to her husband Kevin and has two kids Tyler and Lyndsi along with a beautiful grandchild named Noah. Her hobbies include reading, music, and spending time with family.

    Zach was an intern with Chapel Rock during his last semester of high school. He has been on Staff since Summer of 2016. Zach attends Herron School of Art and Design at Indiana University-Purdue University & is studying Visual Communication & Design.

    Serving as the Assistant Building Administrator, repairing or replacing “Brick and Mortar” as needed. Mike's family includes his loving wife and two grown kids with one grandchild so far. Mike's interests are Tournament Bowling (elected 2013 Bowling Hall of Fame), playing golf, watching NFL football and history related programs.

    Sheri is the Monday – Thursday Receptionist at Chapel Rock. She is married to Fred and they have two grown children: Christine and Stephen. Sheri enjoys spending time with family and friends and vacations at Santa Rosa Beach.

    Mary grew up in Northeastern Pennsylvania.  After high school moved to California for nearly 8 years, then moved back to PA.  Then after meeting her husband, a native Hoosier, she and her children moved to Indiana in November of 1991. She enjoy being around children and is involved in several children ministries at her church. Mary loves to cook, bake, read, garden, and travel with her family.  They are planning a trip in the Summer of 2018 to the Rocky Mountains, Grand Teton, and Yellowstone National Park.

    Debbie comes to us from Brownsburg, Indiana. She is married and has two children. Debbie holds an Accounting Degree from Purdue University (Boiler UP!!). Outside of work, Debbie enjoys reading, biking, travel, and family games.

    discovery days preschool director

    Carolyn Milkie is the director of Discovery Days Preschool. She began working at Discovery Days in July 2014. She loves being part of this very special program, teaching young children about Jesus and His love and watching them as they learn and grow over the years. Carolyn graduated from I.U.P.U.F.W. with a degree in Elementary Education. Over the years she have served with the children's ministry here at Chapel Rock starting off in the nursery and eventually putting down roots in the kindergarten room.

    Carolyn has been married to her husband, Mark for 26 years. They have 4 wonderful children and a 3 year old granddaughter whom they adore!! In her free time she enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, hiking, working in her garden and being outside as much as possible!
