High school students & families are invited to join us on mission to New York city this July 5-13, 2019. We'll be working in partnership with South Nassau Christian Church (https://www.sncchurch.com) in Baldwin, NY. Our journey will take us to partner with SNCC in areas of community outreach, domestic violence outreach assistance, physical facility assistance on the church building, assistance with neighbor outreach remodel/relief construction type projects, neighborhood and city prayer journeys, and more. This trip is primarily geared to high school students and their families. Parents of attending high school students are eligible to bring younger siblings elementary age and up as well (if you have questions about the age appropriateness as it relates to a family member that you'd like to experience the trip, please email nwilkes@chapelrock.org for questions). Cost is $300 for the first participant and decreases by $50 for each additional family member (i.e. student #1 = $300, Mom = $250, Dad = $200, Student #2 = $150, etc...). Trip cost includes transportation by bus to and from NYC, meals, project cost, and transportation/sites while in NYC. We'll have at least one hotel stay (also included) on the trip out. While at the church we'll be staying in classrooms and sleeping on the floor. We'll have at least one day riding public transportation (train/subway) into Manhattan on our prayer journey during which we'll take in the 9/11 memorial, Times Square, Wall Street, Broadway, Central Park and more. Commitment to being a part of this team includes attending monthly team prep meetings on Sunday afternoons from 12:30-2p: April 14th, May 19th and June 30th. Registration requires a $50 deposit per participant by March 3rd.
